The Vanderbilt Woman's Club invites current sophomore or junior women and men with documented financial need to apply for the Ada Bell Stapleton/Blanche Henry Weaver Scholarship.
This scholarship, awarded in amounts up to $5,000, is applied directly to fall, spring, Maymester, or summer tuition. Financial need is a requirement and must be documented via the Undergraduate Financial Aid Office; applicants must have filed a FAFSA. Gifted by the Vanderbilt Woman's Club, the Stapleton/Weaver Scholarship will be awarded to
- a current member of the sophomore or junior class,
- in good standing with the University,
- with demonstrated financial need, and
- who is an outstanding citizen on campus.
The scholarship honors Ada Bell Stapleton, the first Dean of Women at Vanderbilt, and Blanche Henry Weaver, who served as Dean of Women, Assistant Professor of History, Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching Program, and the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 5pm on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2013.
Scholarship winners will be notified by March 15, 2012. The Stapleton/Weaver Award is one of several scholarships presented during the annual Magnolia Awards ceremony on April 3, 2012; winners are invited to attend.
