Bradford reappointed for five-year term effective July 1

Jim Bradford has been reappointed dean of Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management for a five-year term, effective July 1, 2010.

“Jim has worked tirelessly over the past five years to promote the Owen School to a variety of external constituencies,” said Richard McCarty, vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost.

Bradford, who is also the Ralph Owen Professor for the Practice of Management, was appointed dean in March 2005 after serving as acting dean for nine months. He joined Owen in 2002.

During his tenure as dean, Bradford has spearheaded the development and launch of innovative programs at Owen, including the Health Care MBA, master’s degrees in finance and accountancy, and Accelerator, a 30-day summer intensive for highly qualified undergraduates. Under his leadership, annual giving to the school has increased more than 300 percent.
