                                                        Experimental Neutrino Physics: 
                                  Recent Results and Status of the MiniBooNE Experiment

 A review of MiniBooNE, a short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment designed to probe neutrino oscillations at the 1 eV**2 scale, will be given The motivation for the experiment and its potential impact on the understanding of neutrino oscillation science will be discussed. The first MiniBooNE measurements neutrino-nucleus cross sections are now available and will be shown. A summary of the status of the experiment and possible future directions in short-baseline experiments will also be discussed.
