It is important to come to class prepared. Our lectures will assume that you have read the material in the text prior to our discussion of it in the lecture. If you have not read the material, it will be difficult for you to follow our discussion.
To encourage you to come to class prepared, we will be using online reading questions. Your responses will be included as 5% of your total grade for the course. Doing the reading before coming to class and answering the reading questions will prepare you for lecture.
Reading discussion questions - Short reading quizzes wil be given online before each class. We will grade your answers to these questions based solely on effort. If you demonstrate that you have read the material and thought about the question, you will get 5 pts per question. You need to register for Project Galileo's Interactive Learning Toolkit (ILT) website, instructions for doing that are on the Getting Started page of this website.
