“Issues in inter-cultural relations among inmates held for immigration concerns”
• Research Assistant for the project under the direction of Dr. Robert Barsky. The project involved interviewing inmates, and guards at five maximum-security prisons in Nashville, and all those involved in the incarceration process (judges, lawyers, etc.)
• Analyzed the impacts of current legislation examining laws and deportation treaties.
• Attended legal conferences in South Carolina.
• Created extensive research bibliographies.
• The final report will be used by the Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC) to assess the implications of the 1996 and recent immigration legislation on law enforcement.
• The preliminary report was submitted to TDOC on May 31, 2006.
