Programs

Through a partnership with IFSA Butler, Vanderbilt Study Abroad offers participating students a range of possibilities for study in England. Students will choose from the four schools to find a program which best suits their academic and extra-curricular needs and interests. Different schools offer different "Early Start" programs, internships, and other opportunities. For details, see the Butler England and Scotland handbook or the Butler website at http://www.ifsa-butler.org.

The Homerton College, Cambridge, program is run in direct collaboration with Cambridge University.

The Humanities in London (HIL) and International Studies in London (ISIL) programs are operated out of the International Programs office in 230 Buttrick Hall. Questions about these two programs should be directed to that office. For more information please visit the program websites: HIL; ISIL
Courses

To determine Vanderbilt credit hours, courses must be evaluated through the Vanderbilt Study Abroad Programs Office. Preferably, this should be done before participants depart. Some course descriptions are available through the IFSA-Butler website. A list of previously evaluated courses is available in the Study Abroad Programs Office (Suite 115, Student Life Center).
Living Arrangements

Students at the five universities live in a variety of university housing on campus or throughout the city, some of which have mandatory meal plans which are not included in the cost of the program; students generally must arrange for housing during vacations.
Application Requirements

For application deadlines, click here. A GPA of 3.0 is required for applicants to the programs (Homerton College, Cambridge, requires a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA). A maximum of four to five Vanderbilt students may be admitted to each of the five programs.
Costs

As this is a direct-credit program, students will pay regular Vanderbilt tuition plus a program fee. The program fee for the IFSA-Butler programs includes advising, pre-departure planning handbook, overseas staff, student services officer, housing, orientation, family visit, monthly newsletters, scheduled excursions, holiday dinners, International Student Identification Card, permanent academic records, and transcripts for credit transfer. The fee also covers administrative, credit evaluation, and transcript processing costs.
