My research includes books and essays on Spanish Theater, as well as editions of classical and modern Spanish plays. I have written also on the novels of Galdós and twentieth-century poetry. I have been a visiting professor at the Universities of Jaca, Santander, Salamanca, Valladolid, Cordoba, Murcia, Giessen, Milan, Antwerp, Bourgogne, and Montreal. I have been awarded literary prizes in Puerto Rico, Spain, and the U.S.A. and have held several international research fellowships.
