http://th.physik.uni-frankfurt.de/~jr/gif/phys/einst_op.jpg VINSE staff may not be on-hand outside normal business hours. In line with standard operating procedures at similar University cleanrooms around the U.S. VINSE will strictly enforce a Buddy Rule for laboratory access. This means that TWO authorized users of the laboratory (those who have VU ID card access to the facility because they have completed a User Orientation) must access the facility IN PAIRS. That means TWO authorized users physically in the space together at all times. During normal business hours this rule may be satisfied if the Lab Manager or any Lab Supervisor is present in the space and has been notified that you are entering the laboratory alone. If you MUST access the laboratories after hours and cannot find a buddy you MUST contact the VINSE Responder on the VINSE Pager 615-402-7879 and request that the VINSE Responder make an after-hours visit to the lab to enable your access. In the event that it is determined that anyone has violated the Buddy Rule while accessing the laboratories there will be serious consequences imposed by the Laboratoy Manager that will disrupt their access to the facilities.
As always, if there is a maintenance issue with the laboratory or with a particular tool in the lab that requires the attention of VINSE personnel remember to dial the VINSE Pager 615-402-7879 and leave your callback number. Someone will respond ASAP. |
