4/25/2013 11:02 am — Three awards were presented to graduate students in the Department of Psychology during the Psychology Day celebration on Tuesday April 23rd, 2013. First, congratulations to Braden Purcell winner of the Pat Burns Memorial Graduate Student Research Award for outstanding achievement in research. Second, congratulations to Doug Godwin winner of the William T. Hodges Teaching Assistant Award which recognizes outstanding work as a teaching assistant in the Department of Psychology. Congratulations to Kacie Dougherty as winner of the Lisa B. Quesenberry Foundation Award; an award given to a female graduate student studying the field of psychology. Also congratulations to Michael Geoghegan as winner of the Jum C. Nunnally Research Award which recognizes the student with the most outstanding undergraduate honors project.
2/21/2013 9:01 am — Great news: Alex Maier has been selected as a 2013 Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow. This is a highly prestigious and competitive award, with winners selected from a pool of very talented young scientists. Congratulations Alex!!!
Congratulations to Isabel Gauthier!
12/10/2012 10:01 am — Isabel Gauthier has been elected as a Fellow of of the Society for Experimental Psychologists. This is the oldest and most prestigious honorary society in Psychology, with only a handful of Fellows elected every year. This is a richly deserved honor for Isabel. Along with Randolph Blake, Jon Kaas, and Gordon Logan, our department now has 4 members in this Society.

12/6/2012 1:58 pm — Division 3 of APA recently announced young investigator awards given for outstanding articles by young investigators in the Journal of Experimental Psychology (JEP) journals. Daryl Fougnie, a former graduate student in our department who is now a post-doc at Harvard, was one of the two winners of the award for JEP: Learning, Memory, and Cognition for an article he published with Rene Marois, who was his adviser in graduate school. Fougnie, D., & Marois, R. (2011). What limits working memory capacity? Evidence for modality-specific sources to the simultaneous storage of visual and auditory arrays. Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 37, 1329-1341. Congratulations to both Daryl and Rene!!!!!
