Juan Carlos Donoso received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Vanderbilt in 2009, writing his dissertation on "A means to an end: Judicial Independence, Corruption and the Rule of Law in Latin America." He was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and obtained his B.A in International Relations from Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Juan Carlos worked as a Research Assistant for the Latin America Public Opinion Project at Vanderbilt . IIn his spare time, Juan Carlos enjoys playing sports.  At Vanderbilt, he dedicated much time to build a strong Political Science intramural soccer team, which had much success under his leadership!
