Google Bus Visit Educates About Google Apps   printer

The Google “App to School” bus tour visited Vanderbilt September 18 to publicize and get feedback on Google Apps Education Edition.

The bus, set up outside The Commons Center, received a steady stream of visitors throughout the day. Multiple demo stations were set up for students to learn about Google Apps. There were promotional giveaways as well.

Google reps gave a presentation on using Google docs and other collaboration applications in the multipurpose room on the second floor of The Commons Center.

If you missed the presentation, click to view it on VUcast.

The Commons Center meets standards for environmentally sustainable construction and so is certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. The Google bus runs on biodiesel fuel produced from renewable domestically grown resources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, is biodegradable, nontoxic, and has lower emissions than petroleum diesel.
