VUwebmail

LOGIN:
https://vuwebmail.vanderbilt.edu/
NOTE: ITS staff are currently working to resolve two known issues with VUwebmail:

1) Users sometimes get logged out quickly, or are unable to log in. Symptoms of this problem include: you are logged out prior to the 30 minute timeout; after logging in, you receive an error message that “You must be logged in to view this page.” The workaround is to access one of the mailservers directly, at
https://webmailX.mail.vanderbilt.edu/webmail/ [where "
X" is 1, 2, or 3]

2) VUdirectory queries from within VUwebmail sometimes do not return all results. The current workaround is to look people up through People Finder at
https://phonedirectory.vanderbilt.edu/.

Download Webroot Spy Sweeper (Anti-Spyware)

Note:  There is a known conflict with installing IE 7 beta if Spy Sweeper is already installed on the computer. If you want to install IE 7 beta, please uninstall Spy Sweeper first, install IE 7, then reinstall Spy Sweeper.

Download McAfee (Anti-Virus)

Note: The current release is VirusScan v8.0i (version of August 2006, file name VS80iUNd.exe). Previous releases of VirusScan v8.0i prior to August 2006 (files VS80iUNc.exe or earlier) were known to have conflicts with some software initially installed on NEW Dell (and perhaps other) notebooks and caused system crashes.

will distribute laptops to all first-year engineering students on Monday, August 21.
