Business & Finance – Greenfield Project   printer

One of the outcomes of the ITS assessment was the Business & Finance Greenfield project.  This is being implemented in three phases.

In phase I, staff workload was redistributed to align closely with products/services supported (June ’05), some duplicate work efforts were identified and eliminated (June ’05), a capital funding model was developed to synchronize with asset life cycle management (May ’05), and financial and budgetary goals were developed to align with strategic initiatives (June ’05).  Further, third party telecommunication billing is being automated, from cellular service providers (Oct ’05) to long distance service providers to online phone billing.  Finally, software sales are being increasingly automated to facilitate self service via ELMs.

In phase II, an automated financial system was planned for implementation (Dec. ’05) to facilitate online signatory authorizations and granular budget management, identification and implementation of a simple reporting tool, and elimination of redundant paperwork.

In phase III, a costing and funding model will be developed to address rate structures (Feb ’06).
