Catherine Wagner is the author of two books of poems, Miss America and Macular Hole, and co-editor of Not for Mothers Only: Contemporary Poems on Child-Getting and Child-Rearing (all from Fence Books). She is the winner of the Ruth Lilly Prize and was a Teaching-Writing Fellow at the Iowa Writers Workshop. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, she is currently an Assistant Professor of English at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
On Writing is a series of conversations with faculty and other advanced writers at Vanderbilt about their writing practices. Conversations examine writers’ eccentricities and the ways in which a given writer generates ideas, cultivates a style, and responds to various writing situations. It is sponsored by the Writing Studio.
