Time change brings increased focus on pedestrian safety11/5/2009

To increase safety in these areas the major crosswalks on West End Avenue have recently been repainted and drivers and pedestrians should be aware of the intersections with controlled crosswalks that clearly define when it is safe to walk into the street. Pedestrians are also encouraged to use the two pedestrian bridges over 21st Avenue South. Extra care should be taken in areas on and around campus identified by statistical data from VUPD and Metro Police as particularly hazardous for pedestrians. These include:
