Donate a winter coat for a child at Kentucky game11/4/2009
3:37 pm
This program collects new and gently used winter coats to be distributed to needy children in rural counties surrounding Nashville, many of whom are lacking resources or social networks. With unemployment more common and the economy challenging, this program of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee in partnership with Vanderbilt Athletics can really make a difference in the lives of children. This marks the third year for this effort and in the prior coat drives there were enough contributions to meet the needs of our rural neighbors. Children’s sizes are especially desired but all sizes are appreciated and accepted at the entry gates leading into Vanderbilt Stadium. For those wanting to participate but unable to attend the game, coats, caps and mittens will be collected at the McGugin Center ticket office during normal business hours the week of the game. Kickoff for the Kentucky game is 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 14. Contact: Rod Williamson, (615) 322-4051 |
