Edgar Meyer to perform in rare solo recital March 19
Edgar Meyer will perform in his first solo recital in Ingram Hall at the Blair School of Music at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 19. This concert is presented free of charge – no tickets needed; however, seating is limited.
In demand as both a performer and a composer, Edgar Meyer has formed a role in the music world unlike any other and was hailed by the New Yorker as “...the most remarkable virtuoso in the relatively un-chronicled history of his instrument.”
Meyer’s unparalleled technique and musicianship, in combination with his gift for composition, have brought him the wide recognition and appreciation of a vast, varied audience. His uniqueness in the field was recognized by his being awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 2002.
Although the program has not been announced at this press date, this rare event is sure to be an electrifying yet intimate experience with an undoubted master of the double bass.
Mr. Meyer appears by arrangement with IMG Artists, LLC, 1523 W. 57th Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10019.
