Watoto Children to share their story in song March 20

Vanderbilt will be hosting the world-renowned Watoto Children’s Choir on March 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Commons Center Dining Hall.From the Watoto Villages in Uganda, the Children’s Choir Concerts of Hope are a soulful blend of African rhythm, contemporary gospel and ethnic dance. Through their music the choir share their unique stories (each of the children has lost one or more parents to AIDS) and raise money to help their peers in Uganda. The children’s energy and sincerity continue to inspire audiences around the world. These performances are a lively demonstration of the resiliency of orphaned children around the world and serve as a reminder that hope is available to anyone, even those in the most challenging of circumstances.
