Changes to the prescription drug benefit for faculty and staff

During Open Enrollment, the Office of Benefits Administration announced changes to the Vanderbilt Health Plan’s prescription drug benefit including the new pharmacy benefit manager, Navitus Health Solutions which will begin processing prescription drug claims on Jan. 1, 2010.

During the week of Nov. 16, health plan participants will begin seeing information from Navitus in their home mailboxes when a welcome letter will be mailed to faculty and staff enrolled in the Vanderbilt Health Plan for 2010. In December, Navitus will mail prescription ID cards and member booklets.

For details of the new pharmacy program implementation, including the formulary, drugs that are changing copay tiers and a list of discounted $1 maintenance generics, log on with your VUnet ID and e-password to https://hr.vanderbilt.edu/secure/Benefits/Navitus.htm.

Vanderbilt faculty and staff should discard their Caremark prescription ID cards after Dec. 31, 2009.
