United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and Nashville Alliance for Financial Independence (NAFI) is seeking Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers for Davidson County free tax preparation sites. VITA is an important effort that helps low-income working families to save money in tax preparation fees and ensures that they claim all of their eligible tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit.

VITA volunteers do not need tax or accounting experience. Volunteers just need to be comfortable with computers and a willingness to learn. The IRS provides free training. To learn more, including how to attend an informational session to learn about volunteering, go to: www.NashvilleAFI.org, then click on the “Volunteer Center.”
