MLAS spring class schedule announced

Study of the poetry of Robert Frost, the world economy and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are among the offerings for the spring semester of the Master of Liberal Arts and Science program, announced Martin Rapisarda, associate dean of Arts and Science and director of the MLAS program.

MLAS, designed for working adults who wish to continue their education at the graduate level, will host an open house to preview the six spring courses at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in Room 126 of Wilson Hall. Applications to begin the MLAS program this spring are now being accepted.

Classes begin the week of Jan. 18. They are:
  • The United States and the World Economy, taught by Andrea Maneschi, professor of economics.
  • Competing Conceptions of Justice: The Israeli- Palestinian Conflict, taught by Idit Dobbs-Weinstein, associate professor of philosophy.
  • The Poetry of Robert Frost, taught by Mark Jarman, Centennial Professor of English.
  • Caribbean History, taught by Frank Robinson, assistant professor of history.
  • History of French Film, taught by Lynn Ramey, associate professor of French.
  • Theories of the Universe, taught by David Weintraub, professor of astronomy.
