Heard honored in Congress

Chancellor Emeritus Alexander Heard, who died July 24 at 92, was honored in Congress.

U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Memphis), read a statement into the Congressional Record July 27 in Washington. Audio of the statement is here.

Cohen, a 1971 Vanderbilt graduate, called Heard "one of Tennessee’s most influential educational administrators" and "a leader in every sense of the word."
