James Fraser, associate professor of human and organizational development, will testify before the Congressional Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity July 29 at 9 a.m. CT on the topic of public housing.

U.S. Rep. and Subcommittee Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) invited Fraser to testify. Fraser’s testimony will include his research on public housing, recommendations on federal public housing policy and management, community building, and the future of public housing stock.

The hearing will be webcast live at the House Financial Services Web site at http://financialservices.house.gov/hearings_all.shtml. A video archive and written copy of the testimony will also be available on that Web site.

Fraser studies urban redevelopment, particularly how cities remake themselves in response to globalization and how citizens participate in these efforts.
