Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2009 announced

Vice Chancellor for University Affairs and Student Athletics David Williams announced Vanderbilt's 2009 Hall of Fame Class on Tuesday, July 21, at a press conference in the McGugin Center.

The entire class will be back on campus for Hall of Fame Weekend Sept. 4-5 as the Commodores open their season with Western Carolina. The Hall of Fame Induction will occur Friday evening at the Vanderbilt Marriott and inductees will be introduced to the crowd at Saturday's game.

This is Vanderbilt's second Hall of Fame class. Last year's induction banquet drew a capacity crowd of over 400.

The Class of 2009 inductees are:
Jim Arnold: football, 1979-1982
Charles Davis: basketball, 1977-81
Julie Ditty: women's tennis, 1998-2001
Charles Hawkins: baseball and football, 1952-1954
Ming Huse Robinson: swimmer, 1980-1984
Herb Rich: football, 1946-1947
Wendy Scholtens (Wood): women's basketball, 1987-1991
Roy Skinner: men's basketball coach, 1959, and 1962-76
Brandt Snedeker: golfer, 1999-2003
