Avila-Lopez named to Tennessee Supreme Court committee
Posted 6/26/2009
Claudia Avila-Lopez, Hispanic program coordinator at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s Tennessee Disability Pathfinder program, has been appointed to the Disabilities and Language Minorities Committee of the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission. The Committee is responsible for recommending initiatives and systemic changes to reduce barriers to access to justice for persons with disabilities, who do not qualify for existing assistance programs by reason of their incomes, and for persons in language minorities. The Committee’s recommendations will be included in the Commission’s first strategic plan.
The Court developed the Commission because it considers improving the access to justice for all residents of Tennessee as its most important, long-term public policy initiative.
