Fisher Scientific named primary approved supplier for labs

Under a new five-year contract, Vanderbilt will benefit from low net prices on the most commonly used products; deep discounts from manufacturer's-list pricing verified through the competitive bid process; pricing for all equipment with a list price greater than $1,000 priced at Fisher Scientific's cost plus a small percentage, with no need to request quotes on equipment; and special pricing with key manufacturers that is only available through Fisher Scientific.
Product advantages include a broad portfolio of more than 800,000 products from hundreds of leading suppliers, and new laboratory start-up special offers and product promotions.
Vanderbilt will enjoy dedicated, full-time service from sales representative Jessica King, who can assist with product selection, equipment, information, demonstrations and troubleshooting, as well as two dedicated onsite specialists with a local phone number (361-7011) and e-mail address (cso.vanderbilt@thermofisher.com).
Technical support also will be available in the areas of chemical, safety and hazardous materials, and regularly scheduled product shows and technical seminars will keep researchers informed of new products and technologies.
Other conveniences through Fisher Scientific include a no-hassle return policy (items less than $100 are credited without need for return, though some restrictions apply); next-business-day delivery on most products; no normal shipping fees (including dry ice, hazardous fees, etc.); no minimum order; real-time inventory information for products through Fisher's “punch-out” site; and easy ordering through Fisher's “punch-out” Web site via the Vanderbilt eProcurement system.
