Zipcar offers free department memberships

Zipcar is waiving all annual membership fees for Vanderbilt departments (which were $100/year). Now departments can sign up at no cost and simply pay the hourly fee as they go (starting at $7/hour).

Five Zipcars are available on campus through Traffic & Parking and Procurement. Zipcar vehicles can be rented at an hourly rate by faculty, staff and students. Cars may be used for errands, doctor appointments and more. With more and more employees using mass transit and/or carpooling to work, the Zipcars will provide flexibility to leave campus for meetings and appointments.

Departmenst or individuals can sign up online anytime at www.zipcar.com/vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt has two Honda Civic hybrids, two Honda CR-Vs and one Volvo S40. A Honda Civic and a CR-V are parked at the Commons; a Honda Civic and a CR-V are parked at Kissam; and the Volvo is parked behind Sarratt. The Civics rent for $7/hour; the CR-Vs for $8/hour; and the Volvo for $10/hour. There is a daily use limit of 180 miles.
