The Vanderbilt Dayani Center and Health Plus offer a 20-week Weight Management / Weight Loss Workshop for adults team-taught by an exercise physiologist, a registered dietitian, and a clinical health psychologist.
This workshop will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. starting Jan. 13 in the Dayani Center conference room.
FREE ORIENTATION sessions will be offered on Monday, Dec.15 (5:30 – 6:30 p.m.), and Tues., Jan. 6 (5:30 – 6:30 p.m.). Reservations are required for the orientation, but those who attend the orientation are not obligated to enroll in the workshop.
These Workshops Include:
• a 20-week educational program (weekly 1 hour meetings) and educational materials.
• a digital pedometer, computerized step tracking program, exercise buddy program, and optional weekly weigh-ins.
• access to walking groups on our indoor walking track.
• use of the Dayani facility and group exercise classes for 4 months (indoor lap pool, group cycling, water aerobics, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, cardio & strength training).
• a 1-hour personal training session to help you to get started with exercise, plus free access to weekly 15-minute personal exercise instruction sessions.
• a 1-year follow-up program with monthly meetings & optional weigh-ins.
Instructors: Colin Armstrong, Ph.D., Regina Tyree, M.S., & Deanna Dillon, R.D., CDE
Educational Topics Include:
• Eating Healthy on the Run
• Fitting Exercise Into A Busy Day
• Making Exercise More Enjoyable
• Balancing Fats, Carbohydrates, & Protein
• Increasing Your Motivation for Healthy Changes
Workshop Fee: $525 for full-time Vanderbilt employees and immediate family members (adults only) and for current Dayani Center members, $795 for all others. Full-time Vanderbilt employees who complete the program may qualify for reimbursement of up to $142.50 of their fee, courtesy of Vanderbilt’s Health Plus Faculty & Staff Health and Wellness Program.
Vanderbilt payroll deduction over up to 12 months ($43.75 per month) is available.
