Peabody researcher appointed to federal committee on performance pay for teachers
Springer is a research assistant professor in the Vanderbilt Peabody Department of Leadership, Policy and Organizations and director of the National Center on Performance Incentives at Vanderbilt University. The center, led by Executive Director James Guthrie, is a $10 million project funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute for Education Sciences to determine if financial incentives for teachers, administrators and schools affect the quality of teaching and learning.
The committee will hold its initial meeting July 25 in Washington, D.C. Its aim is to develop an understanding of the fundamental components that go into making a successful performance pay system.
