Opportunity to volunteer this weekend to help tornado disaster victims

The Tennessee Red Cross has asked for Vanderbilt's assistance dealing with the aftermath of this week's tornadoes, and the most pressing need right now is help in the shelters where the victims have relocated. The Office of Active Citizenship and Service is calling on students, staff and faculty who are able and willing to volunteer this weekend in Lafayette, Tenn.Shelter Volunteer Job Description:
• Serve meals
• Provide child care
• Talk with the people in the shelters
• Sort donations
• Cleaning
• Staffing front desk
• Any other projects that arise
They need volunteers to work 12 hour shifts (plus an extra 3 hours of driving time – round trip).

Friday, 8 p.m. – 8 a.m. TODAY
Saturday, 8 a.m.– 8 p.m.
Saturday, 8 p.m. – 8 a.m.
Sunday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Contact Lilly Massa if you have a vehicle. You will be reimbursed for gas. There will be more volunteer opportunities to clean up our state and support the victims of this natural disaster coming soon.
