An interdisciplinary survey of European society, culture, and politics since 1900.
European Studies/Humanities 225: European Realism
Analysis of representative nineteenth-century novels that gave rise to current theories of realism. Balzac, Dickens, Clarin, Galdós, and Dostoevsky.
European Studies 250. Senior Tutorial. Supervised readings, joint discussions, and independent research on a modern European topic to be selected in consultation with the director of the Center for European Studies. Open only to juniors and seniors.
