SUMMARY:Vanderbilt  University's electronics recycling event is huge success
DESCRIPTION:Last week\, Vanderbilt University helped sponsor an electronics recycling drive. The first three days\, higher education institutions\, K-12 schools\, school districts\, government agencies and nonprofit organizations brought equipment to LP Field to be recycled. The fourth day was open to the public.\nAn amazing amount of electronics were recycled\: 250 tons\, or about 25 tractor trailers full. On the community day\, more than 1\,000 people dropped items off.\nAll the equipment was shipped directly to a local electronics recycling facility that disassembles or shreds electronics\, segregates the parts and recycles the materials.\nIf you missed the recycling event\, you have some options for recycling your personal electronics\:\no       Davidson County residents can take computers and monitors (limit one computer system per household/month) as well as paint\, compact fluorescent light bulbs\, used motor oil and more to Metro's household hazardous waste facility at East Center\, 943A Doctor Richard G.
