Each year at the end of the Spring semester, a teaching assistant is chosen anonomously by the students and receives "The Rendigs Fels Award" for "Excellence in Teaching". The award presentation began back in 1986-87 and is endowed by the Kirk Dornbush Economic Research Fund. The winner of this year's award was Tamar Trafton. The award is presented annually by Emeritus Professor Rendig Fels, at a banquet held by the Economics Department with the staff, faculty, graduate students and teaching assistants all in attendance.
