The Learning Center (A&S) is located in one of the Freshman Residence Halls, Branscomb Quadrangle.  The Learning Center is open from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday and until 4:30 PM on Friday and provides writing tutors by appointment and on a limited walk-in basis.   Contact  the Center at 343-6829 for more information.

The Writing Program does not train the tutors at the Learning Center and consequently cannot vouch for skills of any individual tutor. The Learning Center requires instructor permission before students can use the tutoring service. As a shortcut, instructors can simply send a copy of their class rolls to the Learning Center with a cover note giving all students permission.

The Writing Program encourages student writers to seek out extra help whenever and wherever possible (within, of course, the limits set by the Honor Code and by individual instructors). The most valuable help, however, is likely to come from the course instructor, because the instructor, unlike an outside tutor, has full knowledge of the aims of the course.
