Grading Criteria Sheets
Below are sample grading criteria sheets that have been used in "W" classes. These do not represent institutionally-sanctioned standards mandated for all "W" classes. They are merely examples of how grading criteria have been articulated in some classes. Key here is that instructors and students must be on the same page when it comes to grading criteria. Note that the very design of such a sheet inevitably sends a message: two of the examples begin by describing a failing essay; the other two begin with an "A" paper
