Please join PAADS in welcoming Professors Rosanne Adderley and Tiffany R. Patterson as Associate Professors in the program. Journalist Joan Morgan will also be on aboard this academic year in a renewable visiting appointment in the program.

Matters

The new graduate certificate in Diaspora Studies is currently under review in the College of Arts and Science. Please check back with us in the fall 2007 for updates. Courses should be available in spring 2008.

New Initiatives 

Professor Kathryn Gines has launched The Collegium for Black Women Philosophers. The article appeared in the Vanderbilt Registrar. http://sitemason.vanderbilt.edu/newspub/bjfTyg?id=31384 The Collegium will meet in October 2007 at Vanderbilt.

"Black Europe," or Diaspora Studies in/on Europe" Seminar. Sponsored by the Robert Penn Warren Center for the Humanities. Professors Sharpley-Whiting and Outlaw will co-direct the seminar in 2007-2008.
